Remember Categories on your PC info!

I've gone through the PC section and added the PC category to all current pages there. Please remember to add it yourself when editing in the future. Take a look at a current PC page to see how.

The wiki is now open to the public!

Special thanks to Rogue for sorting out the final configurations now that my spare time has vanished! Much appreciated.

Well done to all the staff for putting in all the hard work needed to get all this info together.

As of this day, the wiki uses the forum user database to log people in and/or out. These users will have their mail automatically confirmed and will be able to interact with the wiki the moment they've logged in on the forums.

This means that the forum software will be guarding the gate to avoid bots creating accounts on this site and to ward of potential abusers. Also, you require to use the -forums- as a way to assign sysops rights. The Wiki is no longer needed for userright management in that regard.

The following usergroups have been defined to give "Sysops" rights:

  • Administrator
  • DMs

Any user part of the groups mentioned above will be automatically given "Sysops" status. Other users will be 'mail confirmed' users. To ensure the userrights security remains intact, I've kept the previous user right changes seeing as they do not conflict with the new setup. Users banned on the forum will also be added to the banlist on the wiki the moment they attempt to log in.

This should make things easier for all parties involved. From a functionality perspective, I believe the wiki is good to go. Interface and style changes can be done on the fly and are not of the highest priority to get the wiki open to the public.

Friendly regards,

Rogue

Seeing as I've taken over part of the wiki project, I've begun working on the user rights, I will keep a list of recent changes on the main page so that people are aware of what has changed:

  • General Users now must be logged in to be able to see pages
  • General Users now must have their emailadress confirmed to:
  1. Edit pages
  2. Create pages
  3. Move pages
  • All current users have, seeing as they are all DMs, been given "Sysops" rights.

I'll keep you appraised of new changes as I fiddle along.

Friendly regards,

Rogue
